JMX and SNMP This API is a component of the Java Management extensions (JMX), a specification for application and network management. See “Related Information” on page vi for information about the other documents which make up the JMX specification. The SNMP manager API is a set of Java classes that simplify the development of applications for managing SNMP agents. This chapter describes the main components of the SNMP manager API, provides usage examples and also explains how to implement authentication and encryption.
