Linux Driver Development for Embedded Processors – Second Edition 版本: Learn to develop Linux embedded drivers with kernel 4.9 LTS The flexibility of Linux embedded, the availability of powerful, energy efficient processors designed for embedded computing and the low cost of new processors are encouraging many industrial companies to come up with new developments based on embedded processors. Current engineers have in their hands powerful tools for developing applications previously unimagined, but they need to understand the countless features that Linux offers today. This book will teach you how to develop device drivers for Device Tree Linux embedded systems. You will learn how to write different types of Linux drivers, as well as the appropriate APIs (Application Program Interfaces) and methods to interface with kernel and user spaces. This is a book is meant to be practical, but also provides an important theoretical base. More than twenty drivers are written and ported to three different processors. You can choose between NXP i.MX7D, Microchip SAMA5D2 and Broadcom BCM2837 processors to develop and test the drivers, whose implementation is described in detail in the practical lab sections of the book. Before you start reading, I encourage you to acquire any of these processor boards whenever you have access to some GPIOs, and at least one SPI and I2C controllers. One of the boards used to implement the drivers is the famous Raspberry PI 3 Model B board. You will learn how to develop drivers, from the simplest ones that do not interact with any external hardware, to drivers that manage different kind of devices: accelerometers, DACs, ADCs, RGB LEDs, Multi-Display LED controllers, I/O expanders, and Buttons. You will also develop DMA drivers, drivers that manage interrupts, and drivers that write/read on the internal registers of the processor to control external devices. To easy the development of some of these drivers, you will use different types of Frameworks:

This book covers algorithmic and hardware implementation techniques to enable embedded deep learning. The authors describe synergetic design approaches on the application-, algorithmic-, computer architecture-, and circuit-level that will help in achieving the goal of reducing the computational cost of deep learning algorithms. The impact of these techniques is displayed in four silicon prototypes for embedded deep learning. Gives a wide overview of a series of effective solutions for energy-efficient neural networks on battery constrained wearable devices; Discusses the optimization of neural networks for embedded deployment on all levels of the design hierarchy – applications, algorithms, hardware architectures, and circuits – supported by real silicon prototypes; Elaborates on how to design efficient Convolutional Neural Network processors, exploiting parallelism and data-reuse, sparse operations, and low-precision computations; Supports the introduced theory and design concepts by four real silicon prototypes. The physical realization’s implementation and achieved performances are discussed elaborately to illustrated and highlight the introduced cross-layer design concepts.

The AVR Microcontroller and Embedded Systems: Using Assembly and C features a step-by-step approach in covering both Assembly and C language programming of the AVR family of Microcontrollers. It offers a systematic approach in programming and interfacing of the AVR with LCD, keyboard, ADC, DAC, Sensors, Serial Ports, Timers, DC and Stepper Motors, Opto-isolators, and RTC. Both Assembly and C languages are used in all the peripherals programming. In the first 6 chapters, Assembly language is used to cover the AVR architecture and starting with chapter 7, both Assembly and C languages are used to show the peripherals programming and interfacing.

以大白话的方式介绍嵌入式系统架构,基于ARM Cortex-M,很适合在学习嵌入式LINUX之前用来了解嵌入式系统开发的背景知识。 Learn to design and develop safe and reliable embedded systems Key Features Identify and overcome challenges in embedded environments Understand the steps required to increase the security of IoT solutions Build safety-critical and memory-safe parallel and distributed embedded systems Book Description Embedded systems are self-contained devices with a dedicated purpose. We come across a variety of fields of applications for embedded systems in industries such as automotive, telecommunications, healthcare and consumer electronics, just to name a few. Embedded Systems Architecture begins with a bird's eye view of embedded development and how it differs from the other systems that you may be familiar with. You will first be guided to set up an optimal development environment, then move on to software tools and methodologies to improve the work flow. You will explore the boot-up mechanisms and the memory management strategies typical of a real-time embedded system. Through the analysis of the programming interface of the reference microcontroller, you'll look at the implementation of the features and the device drivers. Next, you'll learn about the techniques used to reduce power consumption. Then you will be introduced to the technologies, protocols and security aspects related to integrating the system into IoT solutions. By the end of the book, you will have explored various aspects of embedded architecture, including task synchronization in a multi-threading environment, and the safety models adopted by modern real-time operating systems. What you will learn Participate in the design and definition phase of an embedded product Get to grips with writing code for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers Build an embedded development lab and optimize the workflow Write memory-safe code Understand the architecture behind the communication interfaces Understand the design an
