vswhere被设计为可重新分发的单文件可执行文件，可在构建或部署脚本中使用它来查找Visual Studio或Visual Studio家族中的其他产品的位置。 例如，如果您知道MSBuild的相对路径，则可以找到Visual Studio安装的根目录，并将这些路径组合起来以找到所需的内容。
您可以根据脚本使用的内容发出不同格式的信息，包括纯文本，JSON和XML。 其他通用格式也可以接受请求请求。
