In this paper, we propose a new lightweight 64-bit block cipher, which we call MIBS, suitable for resource-constrained devices, such as low-cost RFID tags. We also study its hardware implementation ef- ficiency, as well as its security. The hardware implementation of MIBS requires 1400 gates on 0.18 µm technology, which is less than 2000 gates limit for low-cost RFID tags. We also show MIBS is secure against differential and linear cryptanalysis
