中国科学院制成手语合成系统 捐赠给千所聋校师生使用   本报讯 近日,中国科学院计算技术研究所智能人机交互课题组研制成功了一套中国手语合成系统,这套系统能用三维虚拟角色任意演示用户指定的中国手语。中国科学院计算所宣布:他们将把这套价值千万元的手语合成系统捐赠给全国千余所聋校师生使用。教育部、中残联、中科院和北京市教委的领导出席了在京举行的捐赠仪式。 中国科学院高文研究员介绍说,这套系统给我国2057万听力语言残疾人带来福音。该系统利用人工智能,计算机图形学等技术,实现用三维虚拟角色任意演示用户指定的中国手语,可以为聋人教育,聋健之间的无障碍交流创造环境与基础。传统手语教学都采用学校教学和录像带播放两种方式,我们研制的系统实现了用户选择需要学习的词语或句子,学生不受时间与空间的限制,克服了学校教学方式中教师需要长时间工作的限制,节省了人力物力。它可构建中国手语电子词典,类似于汉英电子词典,通过该系统软件,在输入任意文后可立即学习此文本对应的标准中国手语。 中国残联教育就业部副主任唐淑芬介绍说,该系统在《中国手语》5596个手语词及30个中国手语的手指语基础上,增加了24817个同义词理解,词汇量涵盖了现有小学课本内容。经过简单扩展,可以涵盖现有中学课本内容。合成手语自然逼真,可懂度高。应用逼真虚拟人演示的合成手语手势准确自然,具有协调的唇动与表情。经聋校测试,指拼、单词、句子的平均可懂度分别为:92.95%,88.23%,87.58%;用户还可以添加新的手语词汇等功能。这对推广规范的中国手语有重大作用,给聋人朋友的学习和生活带来极大便利。 该系统是中国科学院计算所智能人机交互课题组在国家基金委、中科院知识创新工程、国家“十五”“863”高科技计划、中科院“百人计划”以及霍英东基金和北京市科委等多家计划与组织的联合资助下,在国际上率先实现聋人与健听人进行交流的对话以及翻译系统奠定了基础。该系统已在2003年2月27日通过了由中国残联在北京主持召开的鉴定会,有关专家给予高度评价。   (舒安东) 《人民日报海外版》 (2003年03月28日第二版)
